Mira
About mira
Born in Sweden and moved to New Zealand at the age of three, Mira has always sought a true sense of belonging. For her, tattooing fills that sense of home: somewhere where, even for just a short moment, she gets to make connections through a mutual love of art. Mira truly loves the opportunity of creating not only permanent works of art but an immersive experience for her clients.
Mira has always had a deep fascination for tattoos, even from a young age, a passion that would continue to grow after embarking on her own professional tattoo journey in January 2021.
Her distinctive style merges fine lines with bold illustrative elements to evoke a nostalgic charm to her work. She takes inspiration from art nouveau, fairytales, scientific illustrations along with much more, to create her own unique style.
She produces a lot of flash designs but will never miss an opportunity or the challenge of a customised collaborative piece. Most of her creative concepts and themes come from nature, animals, floral and fauna but she always loves the occasional darker piece. Her hyper-fixation with tattoos (boosted by her neurodivergent tendencies) drives her to craft with a lot of passion for her tattoos and she takes great pride in the emotion behind her work – always striving for the challenge of creating a gentle, storybook feel to the finished result.
During a tattoo session Mira prioritises your comfort and safety to ensure you have the best possible experience, not only when getting your tattoo done but also when looking back on your time together.
While her usual palette is black and grey, she is always open to bits of colour to make your vision come to life.
In her spare time you can find her starting a new crochet project, spending time with animals, playing video games and of course always drawing
